	San Gabriel Police Department


	General Information


	The San Gabriel Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency serving a population of 41,000 residents. The city is located approxi- mately nine miles east of downtown Los Angeles and encompasses 4.09 square miles.


	The San Gabriel Police Department is authorized 71 total employees which includes 57 sworn Police Officers and 14 civilian employees. The Department also has volunteer Reserve Police Officer Program, Senior Volunteer Program and Police Explorer Post. The annual Police Department budget for the fiscal year 2011/2012 is $12,147,189.


	During the calendar year of 2011, officers handled approximately 23,080 incidents as recorded in the Department's Computer Aided Dispatch System. Officers made 800 arrests and issued 26,309 citations
